How is Self-Discipline Interconnected with Other Character Traits?

It is a proven fact that some individuals tend to be bigger risk takers than others. Some people do not seem to have the ability to predict consequences, and even when they do, it’s challenging to foresee the severity or intensity of negative implications.

Developing Self Discipline quote4

So how much of our ability to practice self-discipline and control is determined by our biological anatomy? Is self-discipline just as easy of a choice for some, as it is for all? Is lacking in self-control a physical inability, or more of a personal deficit that we can actively manage? Research scientists have been asking similar questions on a myriad of personality traits.

If we’ve accepted the various connotations concerning the deviation of right verses left brain when it comes to traits like artistic or mechanically inclined, is there are particular region in the brain that controls the ability to practice self-discipline?

Some research has suggested that will power and self-disciplined focus during a challenging task may be directly correlated to carbohydrate digestion and blood glucose levels. More complex studies that actually utilize the assistance of an MRI machine have isolated the ventral medial prefrontal cortex when patients were faced with a tempting decision. This same region of the brain is involved in the mental processes that study participants used when making a risky financial decision during a simulation similar to video gambling.

Developing Self Discipline quote5Conclusive evidence further supports that patients with a medical diagnosis of a behavioral disorder, such as attention deficit disorder or hyperactivity, may actually lack some of the imperative neuronal connections that are vital for predicting outcomes and understanding consequential results. These doctors have discovered an anatomical connection to these decision making processes. Is it possible for all of us to have a variable level of connectivity making it more or less feasible to develop self-discipline?

The dorsolateral prefrontal cortex may be the primary region that executes responsible decision making.

So what does that mean? It’s really hard to say.
Not enough scientific research has been conducted to pinpoint a particular pathway that is responsible for the blanket term of self-discipline. Even if medical researchers are able to locate an anatomical deficit that explains how and why some people have a harder time executing self-discipline, it doesn’t negate the physical ability for our brains to grow, develop, and acquire new abilities.

If we can perform physical therapy to regain the ability to walk, what is preventing our brains from gaining or further perfecting our ability to efficiently practice self-discipline?

Developing Self Discipline will simply change your entire life, believe it or not.

Pornography will destroy you, your child and your relationship!

Is pornography destroying you, your child and society? Is pornography increasing the likely hood of rape? Here is what I have found.

The latest research shows heavy users of violent pornography are:
Six times more likely to rape
83 percent of rapists and 67 percent of child molesters consume hard-core pornography at high rates.
A man using porn nearly doubles the odds he'll sexually assault his partner.

  • 68% involved one party meeting a new love interest over the Internet
  • 56% involved “one party having an obsessive interest in pornographic websites”
  • 47% involved “spending excessive time on the computer”
  • 33% involved spending excessive time in chat rooms (a commonly sexualized forum)
I understand that maybe to you it may not sound like a big issue, you wouldn’t rape anybody, or you may believe that watching porn isn’t an issue.

Well the best way to find out is to actually go through it and see, in the end, where this addiction, or habit, will take you.

There will be people telling you that pornography is wrong, like I am doing, and there will be people telling you that pornography is right. Whom will you listen to?

I believe you should consider both views, analyze both aspects and then make up your mind, don’t take anything for granted! Open your eyes and see it yourself.

The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers has said that Among the marriages that ended in 2002;

The figures say it loud and clear what pornography can do to you and your family.
Try to be honest to yourself and think about your life, is this what you want to keep doing?

Do you find yourself craving porn? Do you find yourself always wanting sex and always thinking about it? Don’t you think it is maybe controlling you a bit too much?
A bit like alcohol or drugs at first you may enjoy it, you don’t see a problem with it, at first, but years down the track you’re in a quite bad situation, alone, sick and totally in control of this substance or behavior.

Maybe porn isn’t making it very clear to you that you’re addicted to it, that you need it in order to satisfy a craving that you have and like other craving it grows bigger and bigger, making it harder and harder to stop.

Do you find your partner less attractive? Do you fantasies more about sleeping with other people? Would you rather sit in front a computer and masturbate instead of having sex with your partner?

If you answered yes to those 3 questions don’t you think that maybe something is going on? It’s either the relationship or you.
Maybe you’re not happy with the relationship or something else has changed, in both cases you need to wake up and act. Either quit porn or quit the relationship!

Maybe pornography is brain washing you and making you believe that you should do and say things in a certain way, it’s making you believe that your partner should also look or do things exactly like on those videos or movies which you spend hours watching. Look at this other statistics I have found.

A 2012 survey of porn actresses demonstrated 79% of porn stars have used marijuana, 50% have used ecstasy, 44% have used cocaine, and 39% have used hallucinogens.

People who generally participate in the production of porn are usually drug addicts, young people that have been sexually abused or have been expose to violence or others traumas. Some of course are normal people without any bad past experience but the majority has had a bad childhood or bad experiences in life.

Why am I saying this? Because many people view those porn stars as idols, examples to follow, it’s a bit like following the footsteps of an addict. I realized I sound a bit mean or cruel towards some people but I simply want to get a message across, I don’t mean to offend anybody.

At 8 years of age your kid may be looking at porn, probably before you have even spoken about that topic to your child, 8 years of age is the average age at which kids view porn for the first time.

Think about this for a second. Doesn't your kid copy what you do or what her sister or brother does? Don't you think that the exposure to that hard-core porn will make the kid think that he should act like that?

About 3 weeks ago a 12 year old boy raped his sister, 7 year old, after watching hard core porn. I am not making this up, it was on the news in England and you can still find that article on the BBC website.

You need to first learn yourself to be vigilant, and then teach it to your children that if it's on a screen it doesn't mean it's right!

Majority of people believe and repeat what they see on those screens without thinking too much about it, they just accept it as a truth, as something absolutely correct and right.

I hope I have helped you somehow, feel free to visit my website or blog for more free content.

One last word. Make sure you question everything you see and hear, see the real meaning behind everything.

Thank you.

Adrian Socha.

How is your sex life? Is Pornography dominating you and your life?

How is your sex life my friend? Does the internet comes in your head when I mentioned sex life? Did you know that Regular church attenders are 26% less likely to look at porn than non-attenders, but those self-identified as “fundamentalists” are 91% more likely to look at porn. What about this then.

Those who are happily married are 61% less likely to look at porn. See if you think that watching porn isn't a big deal than I am sorry but you're wrong. By viewing what goes on in those movies, or videos, you're worsening your relationship with your partner. You will except your partner to do certain things, to say certain things, to do what isn't right!
Developing Self Discipline quote9

Did you know that from the 50 top selling adult films, 88% of scenes contained acts of physical aggression? Well you're now turned on and expecting your partner to act like that, see how what majority of society does isn't good in the long run? I will give you one last thing and then I won't annoy you anymore, for today. Ex-porn star Tanya Burleson says men and women in pornography do drugs because “they can’t deal with the way they’re being treated” in the industry.

A 2012 survey of porn actresses demonstrated 79% of porn stars have used marijuana, 50% have used ecstasy, 44% have used cocaine, and 39% have used hallucinogens. I haven't come up with all these facts, those are really statics and fact.

I have a great report talking more about issues that are quite present in society but that don't seem to be a big issue, just like porn! Everybody thinks is harmless, its everything but harmless! I have even read that 56% of divorces are caused because of one partner being addicted to porn! Grab my free report containing much more info if you're interested about some more interesting facts.

How Developing Self-Discipline Pays Off in the Work Place?

In order to succeed in any job or career, self-discipline is an imperative trait to possess. Even if you have successfully climbed the corporate ladder and have few, if any, overseers of your performance, you will be more productive, more efficient, and more profitable by developing self-discipline and control over your actions.

Whether your actions have an immediate and direct effect on you, personally, or not, your job related choices have far reaching implications. From the fast food industry all the way up to a multi-million dollar financial corporation, if you are employed by someone else, your job duties have been established for a reason. Most likely, someone before you figured out what worked, and what didn’t, and every step of your requirements serve a valuable purpose.

When you do not practice self-discipline at work, you leave unfinished business for someone else to complete, finalize, or repair. Depending on your line of work, your choice to succumb to distracting temptations and avoid responsibility are not only a waste of your boss’s delegated funds, but someone else’s time must be employed to make up for your slack. In other words, multiple people are inconvenienced by your lack of self-discipline to efficiently perform.

When you practice self-discipline, your focus and attention are certainly noticed by your overseers. You are able to make better use of your time, provide higher quality work that contains fewer errors, and simply finalize more, in terms of volume. How exactly does this pay off?

Some companies offer performance incentives for exceptional productivity. Others simply consider your level of performance when it comes time for promotional raises.

But the true indication of whether you fully grasp the concept of self-discipline is when you choose to practice this trait without financial compensation or incentives.

Obviously, rewards are certainly motivating, however, the most genuine level of self-discipline comes from the desire to do what’s right, all the time, without being given a gold star or public recognition.

Have you became a slave? Do you lack self discipline? This may be helpful to you...

Hi my friend,

Today I will be talking a bit more about Developing Self Discipline and it's importance, I will be expressing my opinions and I will be also discussing more about life and how to understand if you have became a slave, if you have lost control of yourself.

Check out my FREE report, I have written it personally and it's a great and helpful report it also contains a very special offer. http://www.happyandbalancedlife.com

Developing Self Discipline quote6The reason why I do all of this is purely to help you, I have started to improve myself throughout discipline, by becoming more self-disciplined. I can confirm you that by monitoring myself, my thoughts, my actions and everything I do I have became somehow happier and improved, not only myself, but also the people around me and my whole situation.

I am confident that by following and understanding what I am writing you will discover how possible, and easy, it is to improve your life.

To improve yourself I believe that you can't focus on one aspect of your life and disregard all the other aspects, for example you can't just focus everyday on exercising and disregard the social, financial or mental aspect of your life. To have a great lifestyle and life you need to cover all the different parts of your life.

How exactly can you improve yourself? Remember that you're not only improving yourself but you're also improving who is around you.

Let's talk about pleasure, what do I mean by pleasure?

Don't get me wrong here, by pleasure I mean watching television, sitting in front of a screen playing video games, buying unnecessary stuff, over eating, abusing substances, smoking, or doing something else that won't bring you any good, I consider those actions little temporarely pleasures. The more of those pleasures you have the less control of yourself you have. Simple.

See financial issues, unhappiness and many other little problems, here and there, make your life a bit unpleasant. The biggest reason because you encounter so many little unpleasant things in your life is because you don't have much control of yourself, you let emotions and those little pleasures take over all of your actions and thoughts.

If you had the opportunity to choose between pleasure and pain, what would you choose? I am sure pleasure, at least majority of people would choose pleasure. People usually seek pleasure but work isn't pleasure, exercising isn't pleasure, studying isn't pleasure, self-discipline isn't pleasure, eating healthy isn't pleasure.

Think now for a second if you had the opportunity to live a life fulfilled with these little, temporary pleasures. What would you become? Or who would you become? Combine not exercising+eating junk= Unhealthy. You will end up overweight, with no energies, with no desire to do anything and so very unproductive. After years spent living like this what do you think will happen to you? I supposed you will have a serious health problem and the doctor or somebody else will tell you that you need to become more active or healthier, what that really means is implementing more discipline into your life.
Developing Self Discipline quote7
Come on even the government tells you that to achieve a certain good outcome you need to implement more discipline into your life, you need to eat less junk, exercise more, stop sitting so long on the couch and so on, those are all little improvements that you apply into your life, and so you become more self disciplined.

Hey, how many overweight people are there? Many of them! Don't you reckon they lack self control? (self discipline) at least majority of them do. Some of them may have became overweight because of some phycological or physiological issue.

So see that if you lack self discipline you will end up suffering somehow, soon or later in life. Maybe you can't control yourself when it comes to spending money, or maybe with alcohol or maybe with food. Everybody needs some self-discipline just so they can live more happily!

How can you implement change to your life?

I personally started off with something little but most importantly I first analysed and understood what wasn't beneficial to me. I used to spent a lot of time in front of a screen or watching television or playing games, I also used to spend time on ebay looking for junk to buy.

Developing Self Discipline quote8Initially I understood that my spending habit had to disappear, it was making me poorer each time I would buy something. I remember getting some sort of excitement, pleasure, from buying things online and I have also realised how bad buying things online is, its like if you don't feel that you have spent money, if instead you go to a supermarket and spend that same amount you feel like you have spent a lot of money.

To get rid of that habit I started getting away from the computer and so from ebay and slowly I just stopped buying junk. I now don't buy pretty much anything and invest all the money that I save up. I am now in my the best financial situation ever.

Well after Ebay I jumped into spending hours in front of the television, another bad habit, but at least kept me away from Ebay as I was being entertaining in another way.

See how I switched between one thing to the other? It's hard to sit still for me, I feel an urge to always keep myself busy or entertained. But why did I entertained myself with things that didn't bring me any good? Why did I go back into actions or activities that would give me that little pleasure, which controlled my whole body and mind?

At this stage I understood that the only true solution to overcome my life issues was by developing self discipline. Simply getting away from something that controls you, or entertains you, won't solve the bigger issue, within yourself, you will end up forming another bad habit. Just like an addict that gets away from alcohol for then becoming a prisoner of another substance, or drug, making him believe that he got away from alcohol but soon realising that he is trapped, again, into another little pleasure.

My final words in this post are simply to control and analyse everything you do, ask yourself why do you do it? Will you gain something positive from it? Have you became a slave of a particular action or substance? Be honest with yourself as you're the only one that knows the real answer.

Have a great day my friends and I hope you have enjoyed my post and the importance of developing self discipline.

Developing Self Discipline everyday to reach happiness and anything you desire.

Today I would like to talk about how important it is to stick to a certain plan, to a certain habit to not go back, or fall, into the bad habit that we're trying to escape from this can be achieve by developing self discipline.

Are you maybe trying to live in a healthier way? Or maybe trying to be happier of even trying to be more productive, exercise more, or become more disciplined in general? Or are you just going through a bad time in your life? Read on and hopefully you will find inspiration and comfort.

As I said in my previous post the beginning is the hardest part but if the desire its real, if its a genuine internal desire than you will keep going, you will reach what you want. You simply have to understand that the biggest step, the biggest issue is simple yourself. If you wear red tinted glasses everything you see appears a bit red and so think of this as the perception that you have of the world, when you're happy and content you see good around you, you focus on that, when instead your thoughts and mind are covered in "red"then you will perceive everything in red, you will focus on the bad you will pretty much see the bad aspects of everything while if you're happy within everything appears better.

Now adjust what I am writing to your situation, I am writing to help as many people as I can and majority of issues in your life can be overcome by simply changing your view, your mentality.

Developing Self Discipline quote10What goes on in your head is the most important thing, you need to truly believe that you will get there, no matter what or that anything can be overcome or improved, no matter what. Very easy to say when things are nice and all is well but soon or later you will be tested.

You will be slapped across the face a couple of times and if you keep going then it means that you truly want it, that you truly desire it. Going through a rough period its good, see this in a positive way, you will be pushed to achieve more to force your mind to come up with a great idea or to improve yourself somehow, it depends on what you're working at. If you have a certain issue that keeps arising in your life it means that its something that you need to be work on, not run away from, as it will always chase you.

Change and improvement are hard to achieve, hard to go through but so worth doing because they will pay off.

How easy is it to go back to your old habits, to just jump back into your bad habit in no time at all. I think of it like climbing a mountain or a wall, a bit like rock climbing, how hard is it to climb that wall and how easy is it to fall? It takes seconds to fall. Just like trying to improve your life, it takes time to get there, just like climbing, and it takes no time to fall. Patience and perseverance are key ingredients at this stage, or maybe should I say at any stage of your life? I know for sure that by developing self discipline anything is achievable.

You must train your mind. Your mind, attitude and thoughts are the most important part to success, to achieve what ever you desire or to overcome anything in life. You need to start having positive talks with yourself, you need to always be nice towards yourself but at the same time push yourself, not give up for any reason, not accept failure, you need to achieve what you want no matter what.

Developing Self Discipline quote11You will be slapped across the face but that is part of the journey to success, this is life, you must be ready and prepared to go through anything. You must acknowledge that failure is part of success, through failure you will achieve what you truly desire, but you can't quit until you reach it, that is the failure that you need to stay away from. True failure is giving up, is running away from certain feelings, even if you do a little each day don't give up, never give up or you will never achieve anything in life.

I am sure that sometimes you feel like you certainly will get there, you will surely succeed but do you feel like that even when things go wrong? Not many really do. When things go wrong you must be strong, you must accept and acknowledge that every sometimes you will have a bad day, that bad things unfortunately happen, when you acknowledge this you will then be able to recover, to stand back up, again, and keep going, keep moving forward.

You must then be grateful for the bad because it has helped you, it has made you a stronger person capable of overcoming shit, overcoming what ever will go wrong and making success taste even better. I hope my post has helped you somehow.
